Downtown Derby Classic- HOT TUB, Heated Pool, Firepit, Grill

Unfortunately, we booked this house because of the pool and hot tub. We did not see in the fine print of the 60.00 per day to heat the pool. The hot tub has a grounding issue, so we were unable to use that either. The location was great to the KICC and the communication with the manager was great.

Upon arrival to the house there were do many issues dirt on walls, holes in flooring, bedding was all covered in dirt pet hair and one blanket had blood on it. The upstairs tub was full of hair. There was blood on the door to one room and on the curtains. Broken and filthy furniture. The table was full of food in the cracks. Pans in the cabinet had caked on burnt food. We had to wash all bedding ourselves because the new bedding the host had brought were once again covered in pet hair.

House was nothing fancy but worked nice for us with 2 kids. Easy/quick to get to Louisville, hot tub was great, kitchen was stocked with needed supplies, space to park a vehicle, my kids loved the bunk room with TV and closet bed. Someone mentioned heat being an issue in a previous review - there was no issue. House heated up quickly and maintaned temp set on thermostat. Stairs do make noise while walking up, but thats expected in an older home.

The house was very comfy for a weekend stay. We had plenty of space to accommodate all our needs. As others mentioned the old house does equal squeaky floors. Someone mentioned recently the house was cold. It was cold in January for us as well when we arrived. We easily adjusted the thermostat and the house stayed cozy the entire time. Beds were comfy, towels were plentiful, and everything worked. 4 women... always felt safe, and the access to Louisville was excellent. I love a trouble free stay, and that's exactly what we got. We wanted for nothing.

The host was very attentive and the house served its purpose. Our issues were the lack of heat. The house was extremely cold and uncomfortable at times. The upstairs bathroom had a ton of ladybugs and by the second day ants had taken over. There was no TV in one of the bedrooms which wouldn’t have been a huge issue if we didn’t have two teenage boys with us. It’s an old house with a lot of charm but it was not ideal for us.
